Remote PC Support

Please note that Thirsk Home IT Solutions currently only provides Remote Access Support to our current customers.

Remote PC access support gives Thirsk Home IT Solutions the ability to remotely connect to your computer over the internet and use your computer as if we were sitting in front of it. Remote PC Access support requires a stable broadband connection. We will not be held responsible for any loss of connectivity  that your computer may suffer throughout the remote access. If a stable connection cannot be maintained, Thirsk Home IT Solutions will arrange an appointment for us to vistit your home at the earliest possible time.

By clicking on the Remote Access Download link below you are agreeing to our Terms & Conditions. Please take the time to read through these carefully before continuing. You must be present at your PC whilst the remote support is taking place.

Remote Support is charged at £10.00 for each 30 minute session. A minimum charge applies of £10.00 for this service.
This is payable on receipt of the invoice by email. All major cards are accepted by our securePadlock payment facility provided by PayPal.

Please follow the instructions below carefully. The screenshots below are from a Windows 7 PC, and so will vary depending slightly on the operating system you are using.

1. Click the Remote Access Download link below to start the download from Mikogo.

2. A file download window will appear, save the file to your desktop.

3. Once the download is complete, click the Run button.

4. If you are running Windows XP, please move to step 5. If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7 and you have User Account Control enabled, please click yes.

5. The Mikogo session login window will now appear, please enter the 9 digit session code which was given to you upon requesting Remote Support and click Join Session.

6. You will then be presented with a window which will ask you if you wish to become the presenter and allow remote control. Click yes, and the remote session will begin.

7. You will then be informed that Thirsk Home IT Solutions has control via a pop up on your task bar. You can take back control at any time by pressing Ctrl + F12.

8. Once the remote session is over you will be presented with a Mikogo account sign up screen, please click the white X in the red box to close this windows down.

9. Navigate to the taskbar and right click the Mikogo icon, then click Exit to stop the application from running.

10. Now right click the file which you downloaded at the beginning, and delete the file. The Remote Access software has now been removed from your computer.
